Smith and Eckstein Named 100 Most Influential Canadians in Baseball by Canadian Baseball Network
The Abbotsford Cardinals would like to congratulate Cade Smith ('17) and Corey Eckstein on being named to the @cdnbaseball 100 Most Influential Canadians in Baseball!
Smith began his decorated career with Abbotsford, before finishing his high school career with Chilliwack Cougars. He was part of multiple Team BC rosters, as well as Team Canada. Smith continued his baseball career at University of Hawaii, and is now is a member of the Cleveland Guardians!
Eckstein helped build the Abbotsford program from 2005-2020. During his time with the Cardinals, he led the program to League Championships in 2008, 2009, 2016 and Provincial Championships in 2016 and 2018! Eckstein then joined the Ontario Blue Jays, serving as Team President and 17U Head Coach from 2020-2025. Eckstein announced in November that he would return to Abbotsford in 2026, rejoining the Cardinals and serving as Junior Head Coach!
